Our Expertise
Our team comprises of highly qualified and experienced professionals, including internationally acknowledged specialists who have been involved in developing the Standard and who are members of BSI's OHSAS 18001 committee.   Chris J Ward was responsible for revising HSE's highly successful publication 'Managing for Health and Safety' HSG 65.

The members of the team have combined their knowledge to create a pioneering solution for achieving compliance to ISO 45001.  This Implementation Planner is based on Plan, Do, Check, Act, which provides a four step process for you to reach compliance to the standard.  In depth expert guidance helps you to evaluate your current state of readiness for compliance and then explains the next steps you should take, steering you through the process.  In addition our team have selected and included in the Planner sources of advanced solutions for those who, at any stage, need further support to implement  their plan or to develop their knowledge and skills to further improve their organisational competence. 

Our Team

Chris J Ward - Founder, Managing Director
Chris is a member of BSI's OHSAS 18001 Committee and contributor to the initial development of ISO 45001.  He was a H M Principal Inspector with the UK’s Health and Safety Executive for 36 years which gave him experience of a wide range of manufacturing and service sectors.  He was co-author HSE’s publication HSG 65 revised in 2013, "Managing for Health and Safety".  He converted it from the original POPMAR system to PDCA process used in ISO 45001.

He continues to investigate fatal accidents around the world in heavy manufacturing/construction sectors.  He owns the worlds largest Linkedin ISO 45001 Group

Qualifications: CMIOSH, Diploma of Health and Safety Aston University 1980, Lead Auditor OHSAS 18001, NEBOSH Diploma and Certificate Lead Examiner,  Accredited CHAS Assessor.

Jane Standerwick - ISO 45001 Solutions Developer

She is an expert in advising on and implementing ISO Integrated Management Systems.

She is an IRCA Registered auditor, OSHCR Health and Safety Executive Registered Consultant and

Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (AIEMA).

She spent 10 years practicing health and safety in chemical industry and subsequently 18 years as a practicing consultant including expert audit of OHSMS.

Qualifications:  BSc (Hons) Chemistry, CMIOSH, NEBOSH Diplomas in Health and Safety and Environmental Management, Lead Audit (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) Associate Consultant for British Standards Institute. NEBOSH Examiner, Accredited CHAS Assessor.  

    Trevor Dodd - ISO 45001 Solutions Developer:  OHSMSystems

    He was BSI's Global Technical Manager for OHSAS 18001 from 2008 to 2017 and for 

    21 years at BSI he was involved with the development implementation and audit of 9001/14001/18001.  He was member of ISO PC 283 group which developed ISO 45001 from start to finish.

    He is Vice Chair of OHSAS 18001 HS/1 BSI committee and Chair of BS 45002 development committee, which has created BSI's guidance for the implementation of ISO 45001.

    Qualifications:  Chartered member of IOSH and chartered member of Chartered Quality Institute.

      Susanna Everton - ISO 45001 Solutions Developer:  Occupational Health
      She is a member of OHSAS 18001 Committee contributing occupational health expertise to the development of ISO45001.  She is Registered General Nurse (adult) and Registered Occupational Health Nurse and Past Vice President of Association of Occupational Health Nurses.  Also a member of development board of Faculty of Occupational Health Nursing.  She is co-editor and author of Contemporary Occupational Health Nursing book, published 2017.  She is an independent occupational health nurse practitioner and expert in audit of Occupational Health Management Systems

      Qualifications:  CMIOSH, MSc in OHS, Chartered Safety Practitioner.
      John Wilkinson - ISO 45001 Solutions Developer:  Human Factors

      He worked at HSE for 22 years, where he managed the Human Factors Team.  He has experience in the EU and USA, working with the USA Chemical Safety Board.  He investigated human factors influences in Buncefield, BP Texas City & Macondo disasters.  He authored joint publications with the UK Energy Institute, including the Step Change for Safety programme.

      Qualfications:  BA (Hons) Psychology & Philosophy, a Fellow of the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors and Member of British Psychological Society and CMIOSH.
      Jamie Clements-Ward - Operations Manager

      He is a OHSAS 18001 lead auditor and IRCA Registered auditor.

      He has been a practising consultant for 12 years providing health and safety support for local and national companies, including DSEAR risk assessments and compliance audits for petroleum forecourts.  He is a

      NEBOSH Examiner for the National Certificate.

      Qualfications:  CMIOSH, NEBOSH Diploma, NEBOSH Fire Certificate, Level 3 (HACCP) for food manufacturing.
